Work Tasks
- Pick up people who have called, people who wave at them, and people waiting at cab stands, and drive them where they want to go
- Help people get in and out of the cab and help them with their luggage
- Keep records of each trip and collect the fares
- Call the dispatcher at the end of each trip
- Work for taxi companies or own their own cab
- Work with report forms, luggage, passengers, money, radios, and cell phones

Education/Training
- Minimum for Entry: A taxicab license, a good driving record, and able to speak English
- Employers Prefer: A high school diploma
- Skills/Courses: Must know local streets, traffic laws, safe driving practices, rules for taxicabs, and how to deal with customers
- Certification/Licensing: A taxicab license requires a regular driver's license, a training program, and passing a test.
