Work Tasks
- Drive trucks to deliver goods to businesses or homes
- Check to make sure the truck is working correctly and has gas
- Load and unload the goods on the truck
- Keep records of deliveries made, collect payment, and turn in receipts, money, and records and the end of each day
- Work for trucking companies, wholesale companies, auto parts stores, lumber yards, oil companies, food distributors, construction companies, the government, and manufacturers
- Work with delivery trucks, vans, the goods they deliver, receipts, payments, computers, and electronic record-keeping instruments

Education/Training
- Minimum for Entry: A driver's license and a good driving record
- Employers Prefer: A high school diploma
- Skills/Courses: Must know local streets and be able to organize deliveries. Automotive mechanics is helpful.
