Work Tasks
- Set-up, arrange, or remove switching and dialing equipment used in offices
- Install telephone or digital subscriber line (DSL) services; test the services; install cable TV systems
- Test circuits and lines of broken equipment to find problems
- Fix broken equipment such as broken and damaged telephones and wires
- Work indoors and outdoors for telecommunication companies and companies which make the equipment
- Work with telecommunications equipment such as telephones and switchboards; wiring, telephone jacks, testing equipment, telephone tools, service orders, circuit wiring diagrams, technical manuals, ladders, and poles
