Work Tasks
- Meet with clients and develop a plan for a project
- Oversee all elements of a project from beginning to end
- Lead and motivate a team of workers
- Analyze schedules, budgets, and the technical needs of the project; write reports
- Work for building and construction companies, engineering firms, and manufacturers
- Work with computers, budgets and schedules, reports, plans, diagrams, and other documents, e-mails and phone calls

- $114,500 average per year ($55.00 per hour)

Education/Training
- Minimum for Entry: A 4-year degree and work experience in a field related to the project
- Employers Prefer: A master's degree in project management and related experience
- Skills/Courses: College courses include planning, ethics, risk management, team building, statistical analysis, decision science, cost-benefit analysis, and use of project planning software; knowledge of the field is usually required.
- Certification/Licensing: Certification is available after at least 3 years of experience and passing a test.
