Work Tasks
- Plan training activities for new employees
- Help workers improve their job skills and learn things needed to move to better jobs within the company
- Find out what training is needed by meeting with supervisors and giving surveys to workers
- Work for industrial, finance, insurance, and real estate firms, the government, labor groups, and service industries including business, health, social, management, and educational services
- Work with forms, training schedules, job descriptions, demonstration models, surveys, visual aids, and training handbooks

Education/Training
- Minimum for Entry: A 4-year degree
- Employers Prefer: A master's degree in human resources or training and related work experience
- Skills/Courses: Many employers provide training in office software programs. Others train workers to run specific machines. Knowledge of these programs or machines plus skill in teaching is important. Work experience in a specific area might be more important to an employer than a degree in a certain subject.
