- Plan computer related jobs for a company based on its management goals
- Choose computer hardware and software and keep it working correctly
- Estimate how many workers a project will need and what the cost will be
- Supervise programmers and workers who use the computer systems
- Work for electrical, electronic, and transportation equipment manufacturers, chemical industries, engineering and architectural firms, computer services companies, business consulting firms, the government, colleges, universities, and nonprofit research organizations
