Work Tasks

• Make craft items to sell
• Display their products at craft shows and in shops
• Price items to cover costs, time spent making items, and to make a profit
• May make jewelry, plates, lamps, vases, toys, furniture, rugs, blankets, dolls, or any hand made items people want to buy
• Work for themselves selling their products at craft fairs, trade shows, consignment shops, and other locations
• Work with wood, glass, pottery, china, porcelain, silver, gold, pewter, paper, fabrics, paints, acrylics, and dyes

• $35,000 average per year ($16.75 per hour)

Education/Training

• Minimum for Entry: Talent, creativity, and skill in a craft
