Transport Operation & Related Profile

Photo of Lynda HowardLynda Howard is a tour bus driver. She drives touring companies of musicians, actors, dancers, and politicians across the country. She is responsible for getting her passengers to their next destination on time. She enjoys meeting famous people, but keeps a professional distance from them, because she is responsible for their safety. She enjoys seeing different parts of the country and the relatively high salary she receives for her work. A long-distance driver may not work more than 60 hours in any 7-day period, and drivers must rest 8 hours for every 10 hours of driving. Along with driving a lot, she finds that dealing with people all the time can be emotionally draining.
