Agriculture, Forestry & Related Profile

Photo of Florinda StampersFlorinda Stampers is a forester in Greenwood, Mississippi, who develops and helps protect forests and other natural resources for the U.S. Forest Service. Her work involves using monitoring equipment to report detailed information about species, tree diameter, forest damage, wood utilization, and land ownership. Her work requires extensive contact with landowners, representatives of forest and government agencies, and the general public. She enjoys travel to remote outdoor areas, which she may do 50 to 70 percent of the time. She dislikes having her reports being delayed from release because of "office politics."
