Manufacturing & Processing Profile
Jim Lambert is a fitter who installs, maintains, and repairs pipe systems that are used in oil production. He frequently works offshore in the Gulf of Mexico building, maintaining, and repairing oil platforms and pipelines using tools. Besides being certified to dive commercially, he has received training with specialized equipment developed for underwater use. He enjoys the good pay he receives and the incentives for overtime. He also enjoys doing work that very few people have the ability to do. He dislikes being away from his family for prolonged periods of time and also that he will not be able to continue the work much longer due to his age (most commercial divers cannot dive past age 45).
