Work Tasks

ELECTROLOGISTS remove unwanted hair permanently using specially designed needle-type tools called epilators. The specialists who practice this profession are highly skilled independent practitioners who are trained and educated in the theory and practice of electrology. Electrologists insert a very fine, sterile stainless steel needle or probe alongside the hair in the hair follicle. A small amount of electrical current is then applied through the probe, which destroys the hair root. Electrologists are able to destroy the hair root without puncturing or harming the skin. Most clients return several times before they finally achieve the desired results.
