ACT Names Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer and Promotes Two ACT Executives

The not-for-profit education organization also promoted Paul Weeks to vice president of educational services and Tim Kuhns as vice president of project management. David Cumberbatch will lead the development and execution of corporate marketing and market development strategies. Cumberbatch comes to ACT from Career Education Corporation, where he was vice president of corporate strategy. Prior to that, he held senior leadership marketing roles at a number of companies, with a focus on business development, product and marketing strategies. He worked for a number of years at Microsoft in product management and business development roles. Cumberbatch began his career at Procter & Gamble in brand management. The new executive holds a business management graduate degree from Oxford University, where he studied as a Rhodes Scholar. “David brings an exciting new dimension to the leadership team at ACT. His marketing experience with industry leaders like Procter & Gamble and Microsoft, his business strategy experience in for-profit education and high-tech start up spaces, and his international grounding will help shape a dynamic new future for ACT going forward,” said Jon Whitmore, ACT CEO. Cumberbatch and his wife, Sharon, have two school-age children.
