Meet the Presenters
Thomas Hailu, Former Assistant Director of Community Partnerships and Initiatives at UNC Charlotte & Collegewise Counselor
Thomas earned his bachelor's in Human Development with a minor in Mathematics from Howard University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Thomas brings over a decade of college access experience, including serving as College Access Director at College Track, where he co-wrote a nationally recognized counseling curriculum that's used by CT nationwide. Most recently, he's been Assistant Director of Community Partnerships and Initiatives at UNC Charlotte, building partnerships with schools and nonprofits to expand access.
Ali Springer, Former Colorado College Associate Director of Admissions & Collegewise Counselor
A career-long educator, Ali Springer has spent the last fifteen years helping students on their educational journeys. She served as an Associate Director of Admission at Colorado College, her alma mater, for eight years, where she read thousands of applications, interviewed hundreds of students, and trained the admissions staff on how to identify strong applicants. Ali loves getting to know students throughout the admission process by asking thoughtful questions to encourage self-reflection. During the college research process, she’s incredibly adept at guiding students in procuring data and utilizing critical research skills to connect their passions and interests to the universities and their communities.
