Work Ethic for the 21st Century with Josh Davies on ACT Ready for Work Podcast

More and more, employers are finding it challenging—borderline impossible—to find people with the skills required for on-the-job success. On Episode 15 of our Ready for Work podcast, recorded at our recent ACT Workforce Summit, Josh Davies explained the number one characteristic today’s employers are looking for: work ethic.

Josh Davies is the CEO of The Center for Work Ethic Development, where he helps equip organizations to better prepare their local workforce for employment and lifelong success. At the ACT Workforce Summit, Josh delivered an energetic presentation on why work ethic matters in today’s society—and debunks a few myths along the way. Work ethic may be declining in people’s eyes, and many point the finger at millennials. Josh argues that this isn’t a generational problem. It’s a societal problem—and it’s nothing new.

Regardless of who they are or which career they go into, people need the same skills to be successful. But can you teach work ethic? Take a listen and hear Josh shed some light on this important and relevant topic.

“Time and time again, what employers are telling us is that if you send somebody who has the right work ethic, we’ll take care of the rest.”
Josh Davies
