Knowing the Scores

What score reports will tell you

ACT Engage provides a wide variety of metrics with the Student Report, Advisor Report, Roster Report, and Aggregate Report for all grade levels. These reports help you identify interventions for student success.

Student Report

The Student Report gets to the heart of how ACT Engage can help your school and your students.

The report features a student’s summary profile of ACT Engage scores (expressed as both scale scores and percentile scores) and what you need to know to understand them. Plus, the scores are sorted into three categories that help emphasize the developmental aspect of the interpretive feedback:

•    Capitalize on Your Strengths (high scores)
•    Continue to Develop Your Skills (moderate scores)
•    Make Plans for Improvement (low scores)

The Student Report even provides a Recommended Plan of Action to guide you in helping students get started with their developmental plans.

Advisor Report

More information leads to more action, so the ACT Engage® Advisor Report includes the same data as the Student Report, plus something extra. The Academic Success and Retention Indices are predictive scores that can help you identify students who may be at risk of academic difficulties or dropout. The index combines information from the different ACT Engage scales and self-reported grades and test scores into a single number that makes it easier to identify students most at risk.

It includes students’ names, IDs, GPA and test score information, demographics, ACT Engage scale and percentile scores, ACT Engage Academic Success and Retention Indices, and flags for scoring issues (e.g., missing data, response inconsistency). The Roster Report is in a Microsoft Excel format, which gives you the flexibility of merging ACT Engage scores with other school data.
